Last week our Year 5 Chess team took part in ‘ChessFest 2022,’ which was held in Manchester Square-Baker Street. The festival marked the 50th Anniversary of the World Championship match between Bobby Fischer and Boris Spassky, a contest which inspired a generation of chess players. The Children took part in chess lessons, games against chess masters, matches with giant chess pieces, the opportunity to meet real life chess pieces and finally they tried on 15th and 16th century armour!
