Cumberland Visit New City

Five year 8 students from Cumberland School visited our year 5 and 6 pupils this week. To celebrate World Poetry Day,  our year 6 pupils were taught how to recite, chant and create actions for the poem 'The charge of the light brigade' by  Alfred Tennyson. Our year 6 pupils are now looking forward to sharing their new skills in poetry to the rest of the school.

During assemblies for year 5 and 6, the students and staff from Cumberland explained about secondary school life, what they love about secondary school and how it is different in comparison to primary school. They answered a range of questions to help ease any anxieties our pupils may have about moving to secondary school.
