New City receives International School's Status

On the 1st September 2021,  New City Primary School was awarded the accreditation of International School's Status. This has been awarded because the school has shown a high level of  commitment to embedding an international awareness and understanding within its school community. We are happy to have received this inspiring feedback from the British Council:

"Well done to everyone at New City Primary School you have clearly embraced the necessity for developing global awareness with your pupils and have ensured that there is a strong International Dimension to the curriculum.  You have clearly built some very good relationships with partner schools and hopefully these can be maintained and developed. Well, done for being adaptable around activities. Chinese New Year celebrations provide an excellent opportunity to use some of the language skills learnt in Mandarin lessons providing the stimulus of a more realistic purpose. Communicating with other schools is a very good way of exploring Cultural Capital and providing pupils with those extra experiences. It is clear that the whole school is developing an understanding and appreciation of the interconnection that completing international work can bring. It will help the pupils to understand themselves more fully when they appreciate their place in the world. During the next three years you will need to start supporting other schools as they develop their 'International' journey."

We are very excited about continuing our international journey with The British Council and look forward to working closely with schools across Asia, Africa and America.
