20th March 2020
Dear Parents and Carers
Closure of schools due to Coronavirus
We thank you for your patience in these difficult times.
As you will have heard, the Prime Minister Boris Johnson ordered the closure of all schools to most pupils in England from 5pm on today. This is to limit the spread of the Coronavirus.
We therefore ask you to comply with the Government’s wishes and keep your children at home on Monday 23rd March 2020 and until further notice. At the moment, we do not know when the school will re-open.
We have also been asked to keep a part of the school open with a small skeleton staff, so that we can look after some of our most vulnerable pupils and the children of key workers.
On Monday, the school will be open at the normal times for pupils of workers in the following sectors:
- Social Care
- Fire Service
- Prison Service
- Delivery Drivers/Supermarkets
The school will also be open to any pupils who:
- have a named Social Worker; or
- have an Education and Health Care Plan (EHCP).
We now have our list of children who will be coming to school on Monday. We cannot let other children in as we must reduce the number of children that are in contact with each other. This is why schools are closed.
We have placed a range of remote learning activities on this website. Please click here to access it.
I will text you each week with an update on the status of the school closure.
Please stay safe and well during this difficult time
