Letter from Mrs Stone - 1st May 2020

1st May 2020

Dear Parents and Carers

Thank you to all the children who submitted entries for our Earth Day competition. We will be announcing the winners of this competition next week. Watch this space as we will be announcing further whole school competitions!

Your children's class teachers are in touch with you through a range of ways. Firstly the weekly plans are available on the home page. Secondly you can email your child's works for marking via an email that has been sent to you by text. The email address is: your child's year group@newcity.boleyntrust.org. For example year1@newcity.boleyntrust.org or year5@newcity.boleyntrust.org We are also using StudyBugs as a means of communication. This was set up for absences but it is an excellent way to communicate with your children's teachers during this time. During next week teachers will be phoning up families who have not been logging onto to the various Apps or sending work in for marking to check everything is OK.

Thank you for your on going patience with the free school voucher system. If you think you are eligible then please apply via Newham by clicking this link: http://www.newham.gov.uk/Pages/Services/Free-school-meals.aspx‚Äč

Finally, you may have seen in the Newham Recorder that our very own Mr Freeland has made it to the final 8 of the National Teacher of the Year award. Mr Freeland along with his colleagues and parents have been interviewed by a panel of judges this week. We are now waiting to know if he has made it to the final. I will keep you posted.

The school remains open during this time but we will be closed on May 8th for the Bank Holiday. If you require a place and meet the criteria of a key worker or vulnerable family then please contact the school office or email at info@newcity.boleyntrust.org

Thank you and take care

Mrs Stone
