Dear Parents and Carers
I hope you are all keeping well and staying safe. There has been a lot of information in the media about the phased opening of the school from June 1st. Below is a letter I posted on Monday and I have also attached a video. Please do not worry you will be kept informed about how this will work. Our priority is to ensure everyone is safe!
VE Day Competition
To commemorate the 75th Anniversary of VE Day, New City are holding a competition! We would like to see your best poems, art and sculptures to celebrate the anniversary! To learn more about VE Day you can visit www.bbc.co.uk/newsround/48201749. As well as this there is lots of information on BBC Bitesize and even a Horrible Histories song to give you ideas for your poetry, art and sculptures! Please send entries to Mr Kershaw at firstname.lastname@example.org be sure to include your name and class! There is still time to enter. - we will close the entries on Monday May 18th.
Winners will be announced on Friday 22nd May.
Design your own superhero!
Your design should have some if not all of the following features:
- Bright/strong eye catching colours (these could relate to the NHS or rainbows to link/relate to current times)
- Super hero style pose
- Cartoon style
- Super hero name
Remember going over lines of main features in black will will add definition (make them stand out) if you feel this will make your design more clear/eye catching!
And don’t be afraid to borrow/ adapt bits from other super heroes you like.
Choose any medium you have at home/ are confident with including colouring pencils modelling clay/play dough etc

Keeping in Touch
Your children's class teachers are in touch with you through a range of ways. Firstly the weekly plans are available on the home page, via email and StudyBugs. Secondly you can email your child's works for marking via an email that has been sent to you by text. The email address is: your child's year firstname.lastname@example.org. For example email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org We are also using StudyBugs as a means of communication. This was set up for absences but it is an excellent way to communicate with your children's teachers during this time.
