Nursery Admissions for September 2022

Admissions.jpg

At New City Primary School we believe in our children having the very best start as they begin their educational journeys.

We are currently enrolling in our nursery for September and if you are interested in registering your child you can either book an appointment with our Admissions team by contacting us on 020 8472 2743 or alternatively complete the online ‘Nursery Admissions form’ and email it to us at info@newcity.boleyntrust.org

We accept children's names for the nursery waiting list from their second birthday. We cannot guarantee you a place but we do try to offer all children at least three terms in the nursery before entry to our school.
We offer children a morning only nursery placement or an afternoon only placement. If you would like to put your child's name on our nursery waiting list we suggest you do this after their second birthday. Please come to the school office on Tuesdays only, between 9am and 10am.

Please bring with you;

  • Your most recent Council Tax Bill or if not available, your Tenancy Agreement or Rent Book.
  • Plus A Utility Bill, (Gas, Electric, Water, Landline phone)
  • As well as your child(rens’) Birth Certificate or Passport showing their Date of Birth and Full Name.

From September 2023 we will be offering 30 hour child care. Parents should be applying now (via www.childcarechoices.gov.uk) in order to start next term.

Starting school for the first time

In Newham, children start primary school (Reception) in the school year during which they have their fifth birthday. Entry is either in September or January depending on their birthday.
To request a place for your child at our school, you must contact one of Newham’s Service Centres.

In the term before your child's admission is due, you will hear from Newham to let you know whether a place is available or not. If you are offered a place, write or call to accept it as soon as possible. After this, the Education Department let us know you have a place and we will get in contact with you as soon as we can to arrange an admission interview.

Determined Admission Arrangements - September 2023

The law requires that all schools must have admission arrangements that clearly set out how children will be admitted, including the criteria that will be applied if there are more applications than places at the school. Admission arrangements are determined by admission authorities.

All admission authorities must determine (i.e. formally agree) admission arrangements annually, even if they have not changed from previous years and a consultation has not been required. Admission authorities must determine admission arrangements for entry in September 2023, by 28 February 2022. The Boleyn Trust is the admission authority for New City Primary School and we have formally agreed to adopt the LB Newham’s admission arrangements for September 2023.

For any proposed changes to the existing determined arrangements a formal consultation must take place and must be for a minimum of 6 weeks and must take place between 1 October and 31 January of the school year before those arrangements are to apply. This consultation period allows parents, other schools, religious authorities and the local community to raise any concerns about proposed arrangements. We did not propose any changes for 2023.
